Wildfire Devastates Coffee Reforestation Project in Petchaboon
Arising from a trip to Sri Thep Ancient City, on the second day of the trip to Petchaboon Geopark, we encountered a heartbreaking scene: a massive wildfire had scorched a large area. Particularly tragic was the near-total destruction of a coffee plantation managed by the Arabica Coffee Community Enterprise's reforestation project. Sadly, only 40 coffee trees out of 1,600 survived the blaze.

AFICS-T Provide the donation
Despite this devastating setback, the Arabica Coffee Community Enterprise remains determined to continue its reforestation efforts. Their dedication inspired the AFICS-T members, who, being former UN staffers, believe the community deserves support in their fight to rebuild. This incident highlights the challenges faced by environmental projects and the unwavering spirit of those dedicated to them. The Committee on Charity Activities recommended that the AFICS-T Board provide a one-time donation to the Arabica Coffee Community Enterprise to help them acquire essential medical supplies.
