The AFICS-T is pleased to provide the following "questions and answers (Q&A)" for general information and better understanding of members on After Service Health Insurance (ASHI). It should be noted that there are two medical insurance plans, namely, the Medical Insurance Plan (MIP) and the UN Worldwide Plan (WWP), which are applicable to most of retirees who are residing in Thailand. For the MIP and the WWP, the plans are administered by the third-party administrator, Cigna. We are aware that some retirees who are living in Thailand are covered under different medical insurance plans other than the above two plans. Given the complexity and nature of coverage under other medical insurance plans besides the above two plans, AFICS-T is not in a position to formulate Q&A for all of them. Thus, the following Q&A would be focused on the MIP. If there are any doubts or inconsistencies that may arise from the Q&A, the provisions in the Secretariat Administrative Instruction ST/AI/2015/3 and ST/IC/2015/8 shall apply.
